Let’s take a closer look at the new routes introduced by Universal Air. Travelers can now fly directly from Malta to Cagliari in Sardinia, Perugia in northern Italy, Nice in France, and Prague in the Czech Republic. Additionally, Universal Air has added a direct flight from Cagliari to Prague. These new routes expand upon Universal Air’s existing connections to Athens, Corfu, Ibiza, Palermo, and Pécs. The new routes will officially launch between May and October, with varying frequencies. Flights from Malta to Corfu and Palermo will operate three times a week, while routes to Nice, Athens, Ibiza, and Perugia will run twice a week. The Cagliari and Prague route will have one flight per week.

Simon Cook, CEO of Universal Air, expressed his excitement about the new routes, stating, “We are thrilled about the travel and business opportunities these new routes present. We believe they will not only have a positive impact on the tourism and economic development of each destination but will also provide Maltese travelers with more fresh options.”

It’s worth noting that although Universal Air is relatively new, it has accumulated significant experience in the aviation industry. Based at Malta International Airport, the airline has provided high-quality charter and cargo services for many years. In March of last year, Universal Air officially launched its first commercial passenger flights, marking a new phase in its development.

For the people of Malta, the new routes from this local airline are undoubtedly a significant advantage. For a long time, Maltese travelers have mostly relied on connecting flights from foreign airlines, which can be time-consuming and limited in options. Now, with the expanding route network of Universal Air, Maltese travelers will have more convenient direct flights to popular destinations. Whether you prefer sunny beaches or cultural landmarks, the new routes from Universal Air will offer Maltese travelers a wealth of fresh travel experiences. As a local brand, Universal Air is sure to provide a route network that is more in tune with local needs, making travel options for the Maltese both convenient and economical.
